Irving Levi (5 October 1920–1988) was a German-born Ritchie Boy (Class 27) trained in counterintelligence and later associated with the 206 CIC Detachment.

Biography

Irving Levi was born in Germany on 5 October 1920 to German-born parents and was naturalized in the United States. Before the Army he worked as a foreman supervising about sixty machinists making precision instruments for airplanes and time fuses; he had apprenticed in watchmaking in Europe and could read blueprints. He was fluent in German and typed in German and English.

After engineer training at Fort Belvoir (October 1944) and infantry training at Camp Gordon (December 1944), he entered Camp Ritchie in February 1945 as a student in Class 27 (Counter Intelligence / CIC). Personnel cards record graduation around 5 April 1945 (certificate 10824; one card line reads “Class 87,” treated as a likely miswrite for Class 27). In late April 1945 he went on temporary duty to the University of Paris, later extended; he was alerted on 26 June 1945 and released from the station on 14 July 1945. His Personal History card lists organization 206 C.I.C. Detachment and an ETO remark.
