On 10 March 1943, Ernest became a naturalized citizen at Hagerstown, MD. His team served primarily with the 29th Infantry. Born in Vienna, Austria, RB Kessler fled to the United States, and later joined the US Army. He was sent for intelligence training to Camp Ritchie and studied in the 4th Class. He served with Regimental Headquarters of the 29th Infantry Division ,and participated in the D-Day invasion.
