Emanuel | Emanuel Suessmann (born Emanuel Süssmann) was born on 17 July 1910 in Leipzig, Germany, and worked as a grocery storekeeper and gardener. After imprisonment at Sachsenhausen following Kristallnacht, he reached Britain as a refugee on 23 May 1939 and lived at Kitchener Camp, Richborough. He sailed from Liverpool on the ''Antonia'' on 30 May 1940 for Canada and then the United States. | ||
