Born October 3, 1925 in Mannheim, Germany.
Hans Curt Bubel was born on 3 October 1925 in Mannheim, Germany, to Curt and Maria Bubel. The family immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1928. After high school he was drafted and trained in military intelligence at Camp Ritchie (Class 26).


Following high school he was drafted and sent to Camp Ritchie, MD for training in military intelligence. Curt pursued his PhD at the University of Utah as a Polio Fellow; then came to Cincinnati where, for more than 30 years he taught medical students and directed research.
He arrived in Europe on VE-Day and was assigned to a team searching for enemy documents for use at the Nuremberg trials.


According to the information he provided to them: He served 1944-1946 in the U.S. 16, 2018 at the age of 93. He found AP Photo collection; Enemy Documents section war crimes trial; Martin Bormann; interrogated Luftwaffe General; observer at trials for 2 days; Utah Polio researcher moved to Cincinnati to work with Sabin; Prof.
After the war Bubel earned a Ph.D. at the University of Utah as a polio fellow, then spent more than thirty years in Cincinnati teaching medical students and directing research. He was a member of Sigma Xi and Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Golden Apple for teaching excellence. He died on 16 November 2018 at age 93.
 
Bubel was one of these and I am trying to find out more about him and especially his military career.
