Hans Curt Bubel was born on 3 October 1925 in Mannheim, Germany, to Curt and Maria Bubel. The family immigrated to Salt Lake City in 1928. After high school he was drafted and trained in military intelligence at Camp Ritchie (Class 26). | |||
He arrived in Europe on VE-Day and was assigned to a team searching for enemy documents for use at the Nuremberg trials. | |||
After the war Bubel earned a Ph.D. at the University of Utah as a polio fellow, then spent more than thirty years in Cincinnati teaching medical students and directing research. He was a member of Sigma Xi and Alpha Omega Alpha and received the Golden Apple for teaching excellence. He died on 16 November 2018 at age 93. | |||
