Silver Star Citation The President of the United States of America, authorized by Act of Congress July 9, 1918, takes pleasure in presenting the Silver Star to Second Lieutenant (Coast Artillery Corps) Louis V. Marsh ~~(ASN: 01056160), United States Army, for gallantry in action while serving with the 35th Infantry Division, in action in the vicinity of Laneuville, France,~~ on ~~16 September 1944~~. ~~Lieutenant Marsh,~~ a ~~member of~~ the ~~Military Intelligence Team 407 on duty with the 137th Infantry Regiment~~, ~~accompanied his section to the town of Laneuville, France, which~~ at ~~that time had not been liberated. Schneider, accompanied by 2nd Lieutenant Louis V. Marsh of the Military Intelligence Team, had already crossed the river into Dombasle, where they encountered enemy resistance unexpectedly. Marsh, as well as his certificate graduating Camp Ritchie Class 15. Marsh passed away on March 16, 2005. Born on February 2,1920, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt., and arrived at Camp Ritchie~~, starting Class 15 (French)~~ on January 4, 1944. Louis V. Marsh was born on 2 February 1920. Commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Coast Artillery Corps, he attended anti-aircraft officer training at Camp Davis in 1943 and arrived at Camp Ritchie on 4 January 1944. He completed the Class 15 French course on 3 March and sailed for Britain aboard the ''Queen Mary'' the following month.

Marsh served with MII Team 407, attached to the 137th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division. During an action near Dombasle, France, on 15 September 1944, his four-man party crossed the Meurthe River, killed three German soldiers, wounded one, captured eighteen, and eliminated a machine-gun position and roadblock. Marsh received the Silver Star for his gallantry and was later promoted to first lieutenant and placed in charge of MII Team 478-G with XXI Corps.

Marsh died on 16 March 2005.
