Lawrence W. Stanton was born on 14 June 1924 in Rochester, New York. After graduating from Adams Center High School in 1942, he worked in photography.


After finishing high school in 1942, he took up photographic work and was employed by the T.V.A. Marines and was assigned to Aerial Photographic Instruction School an was graduated May 8, 1943, then acted as Instructor in Combat Intelligence until Sept.
Stanton enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on 15 December 1942. He graduated from aerial photographic interpretation school at New River, North Carolina, in May 1943, instructed in combat intelligence, and completed two months of specialized training at Camp Ritchie (Class 12). Assigned to the 4th Marine Division's photo-intelligence section, he served for more than three years in the Pacific and participated in operations at Roi-Namur, Kwajalein, Saipan, Tinian, and Iwo Jima. He was honorably discharged after the war and remained active in his church and Scouting.


On Dec 15, 1942 he enlisted in the U.S.
Stanton died on 16 October 1974.
