I want to thank Steve Goodell for his incredible research on this photo which was published on another FB page. This is a colorized photo of Ritchie Boy S/Sgt Werner Neu taken on March 1, 1945 interrogating two civilians from the "Volkssturm" near Elsdorf, Germany. Neu was identified in this picture with IPW Team # 29, which was attached to the Headquarters Forward Echelon of the 3rd Armored "Spearhead" Division on January 14, 1944. He was German-born, Jewish, and had lived in St. In December, 1941 he married Rose Figlure, and they had one son, Theodore A. Steve has sent me much more info on RB Neu, which I will provide in future posts. | |||
