Michael J. Baglio trained at Camp Ritchie and served as a sergeant. In September 1944, while with the U.S. Fifth Army near Firenzuola, Italy, he and Lt. [[Lehmann, Wolfgang J. (01318811)|Wolfgang J. Lehmann]] gathered information from Italian partisans (National Museum of American Diplomacy).
 
After the war he settled in Minnesota and served as Italian Vice Consul to Minnesota; he was active in Italian American affairs in Minneapolis–Saint Paul.
