Frank Sternberg (also known as Franz) was born in 1912 in Germany and later lived in New York. He enlisted in the United States Army at New York City and trained at the Military Intelligence Training Center at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 5.
By November 1943 he was corresponding from Alexandria, Virginia, as a corporal. Chapman brothers coin-and-medal business papers preserved at Internet Archive place him at Camp Ritchie as a sergeant in December 1945. Sternberg died in 2013.
