Robert Sellers Campbell (died 10 February 2010) (ASN 01176570) was a Ritchie Boy (from United States; Protestant) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 9.
Biography
. Robert was born in June 7, 1921 in Pipestone, Minnesota. Robert trained at Camp Swift,. Texas, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Camp Roberts, Fort Ord, Fort Mt Dowell, California, Camp Murray, Fort Lewis, Washington, University of Washington, Camp Ritchie, Maryland and Camp Clatsup, Oregon. He served at total of 44 months, and cchieved the rank of Captain. He entered service on July 16, 1924. His initial occupation was Field Artillery. He was sent overseas: March 7, 1944 and returned: January 3, 1946. He served in Southwest Pacific Theatre, and was in the following engagements: Leyte, Hollandia, Western Luzon and Bataan Peninsula, Mindanao. He was awarded the following: Bronze Star, Purple Heart, American Theatre Ribbon, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon W/3 Battle Stars, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon W/3 Stars and, Bronze Arrowhead. He passed away on February 10, 2010.
