On 29 April 1944, MITC Special Orders No. 103 listed him as Master Sergeant (asst interrogator) with IPW Team 71, relieved from Camp Ritchie and ordered to Camp Shanks, New York, on 2 May 1944. On 23 May 1944, Hq MIS ETOUSA Special Orders No. 135 placed IPW Team 71 on detached service with FID. On 2 June 1944, Hq MIS ETOUSA Special Orders No. 145 attached IPW Team 71 to Third U.S. Army for duty with 28th Infantry Division.
