Our sincerest condolences to the family of Ritchie Boy Peter Samuel Stepanek of Brewster, MA, who passed away on May 23, 2022. "Peter was born May 24,1924 in Norton, MA, to John and Helena Stepanek, immigrants from Russia and the Ukraine. He began elementary school speaking only Russian and German, graduated from Norton High School, and enlisted in the army in 1943. He was soon chosen to serve as an officer in the Counter Intelligence Service in the Eastern European Theatre. As one of the original “Ritchie Boys” in the OSS, he was responsible for interrogating top level Nazi officers in order to gain information for the Nuremberg Trials." | |||
