He was then sent to Fort Benning for officer training where he was then sent to Camp Ritchie for Intelligence Training. He was not Jewish but his grandmother was German and he spoke German. He was severely injured in Aachen on October 8, 1944 and discharged with a 100% disability. This is his DD214."
