Henry Lowenstern (died 8 April 2021) was a Ritchie Boy (from Germany; Jewish) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 26 and served with IPW Team 218.
Biography
Henry was born in Korbach, Germany, and came to the United States when he was 11. In August 2020, Grogan published this article about Ritchie Boy Henry Lowenstern who passed away on April 8, 2021.
He trained at Camp Ritchie and went overseas as a First Lieutenant where he interrogated German prisoners of war and investigated war crimes. David Grogan is a retired Navy Judge Advocate (JAG). He is a novelist and also publishes a monthly Voices to Veterans column in which he writes profiles of veterans whose stories have been sent to him.
What a wonderful tribute to this Ritchie Boy!
