Szajko Frydman (1911–1978) was a Ritchie Boy (from Poland; Jewish) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 10.

Biography

Szajko (Zosa) Frydman (1911–1978) was a Polish-born Jewish Ritchie Boy who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 10 as a private and served overseas. In 1927, he moved to France. In 1927, he moved to Paris. In 1934, he worked as a as a journalist, contributed to Yiddish language communist daily. He is the subject of the 2015 non-fiction book The Archive Thief. Szajko attended Moved to Warsaw; studied at the Rabbinic Teachers Seminary. He worked at YIVO as research assistant and unofficial zamler (collector). He worked at YIVO as research assistant. He sent hundreds of boxes with documents to the Jewish YIVO organization. He for five weeks, served as interpreter in talks with local French and in. He one of his documentary thefts involved stealing large amounts of German documents from German archives in Berlin, where he was stationed in the immediate postwar period. He wrote especially on French Jewish history but also on the modern history of the Jews in Eastern Europe. He as ZOSA SZAJKOWSKI, published many scholarly. He published many scholarly. He published scholarly articles. He wrote articles on Jewish history.
