Rex Applegate was a United States Army colonel on the Camp Ritchie staff and faculty, instructing in Close Combat (Section VIII). He had earlier British special-instruction experience in 1942 and OSS ties. A manual-combat specialist, he wrote Kill or Be Killed. Faculty records list an arrival or alert date of 11 June 1945.
