William E. Holtzer (8 September 1916 – 30 October 2002) was a Ritchie Boy (from United States; Catholic) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 26.
Biography
William was born September 8, 1916 in Rock Island, Illinois.
He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1934. Ambrose College in 1939 with a bachelor's degree in economics. Ambrose College Hall of Fame in 1988.
He enlisted on March 31, 1941.
He previously had worked 15 years for Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. And in early years for Bituminous Insurance Co., Rock Island. Ambrose, he was a member of the football team, which went undefeated for three years while he played.
He was inducted into the St. He was a World War II Army veteran, working in counterintelligence, both locally and in Germany.
William worked as a claims adjuster for Employers Mutual Insurance Co., Des Moines, Iowa, for 15 years and retired in 1981. (36014277)|William Holtzer]] passed away on October 30, 2002 at the age of 86.
