Raymond was born in New York City.
Raymond Peter Pach was born in 1914 in New York City. He attended Château Burés in Paris and Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine, and pursued further music study in Paris, San Francisco, and New York before entering the Army in 1943.


He graduated from Chateau Bures, a private school for boys in Paris, France; and Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine. His post graduate studies were at the Conservatory of Music in Paris, France and San Francisco, Calif.; Manhattan School of Music, New York City; UNC, Chapel Hill, N.C.; Military Intelligence School, Md.; and Marine Corp Extension School, Quantico, Va.
Pach trained at Camp Ritchie (Class 15) and served in France, Belgium, and Germany with Army engineer/intelligence units (including association with the 101st Combat Engineers and MII Team 432). He received the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign ribbon with five battle stars, the American Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal. Discharged at Étampes, France, in October 1945 after occupation duty in Germany, he later served in the Marine Corps Reserve and retired as a major.

Pach died in 2008.
