Ernest Torrez was a Ritchie Boy. My information on Ernest is pretty limited. Sometimes we find a lot of information, other times, not so much. Ernest Torrez was born on September 30, 1923, in New Mexico. He enlisted on December 9, 1942. In July, 1945, it seems that Ernest was admitted to the hospital at Camp Ritchie, and had unfortunately got tuberculosis, and was discharged/retired for disability for medical reasons. According to the attached enlisted record and report of separation document, he served over 2 years stateside. Ernest passed away on August 27, 1994 at the age of 70. | |||
