Here's a humorous bit I found on Ritchie Boy Douglas Theodore Fuller. I believe this was written in the late 1940s or or early 1950s. Douglas stated that his war activities consisted mostly of spending nine delightful months at the University of Minnesota learning to speak incredibly good Swedish (that is a compliment for the Minnesota faculty, not me). The reason for it was and remains obscure. Twenty-one other months were spent at various places, but I finally ended up with the 101st Airborne, after Bastogne. I was not in the famous Battle of the Bulge, but the accompanying statistics should indicate that my wife and I have just finished fighting a similar one of our own. Readjustment to civilian life was duck soup. I'm doing practically what I did before the war, and can say with Bob Hope, "I never left home." Only real change is that I got married, and each passing day proves it to have been a most salubrious move. He trained at Camp Ritchie in Photo Intelligence. He was in both France and Germany with the 101st Airborne (May to September 1945).
