Ritchie Boy Captain [[White, Alfred C. (01299331)|Alfred White]] trained at Camp Ritchie in Aerial Photo Interpretation and Military Intelligence. Ritchie Boy White was an unsung hero whose service should be celebrated.


The 60 Minutes program on May 9 has led to a number of people digging into their Father's or Grandfather's records and discovering that they were Ritchie Boys. He was then sent to Fort Benning for officer training where he was then sent to Camp Ritchie for Intelligence Training. He was not Jewish but his grandmother was German and he spoke German.
He was severely injured in Aachen on October 8, 1944 and discharged with a 100% disability. He fought in the Battles at Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland and was severely wounded in the battle for Aachen, Germany. He received the Purple Heart and Silver Star medals.
Here are two pictures of his training that were with the 10th Mountain Division. According to his daughter, "He didn't talk much about what he did as an Intelligence Officer.
