Frank C. Hauser (1911–1993) was a Ritchie Boy (from Austria; Jewish) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 20 and served with IPW Team 140.

Biography

HAUSER was born in Austria in 1911. On July 31, 1942 he enlisted at Fort Jay (Governor’s Island, NY) as Pvt (ASN: 32417389) Frank completed his Basic training at Camp Croft SC on November 6, 1942 and became a naturalized U.S. Ritchie Boy Hauser started his training at Ritchie on June 19, 1944 in the 20th Class 6/19/1944 as a German IPW.

Hauser (1911-1993) S/Sgt Norman Wagner (1921-1999) T/3 Sigurd Swenson (1922-2006) T/5 William Thatcher (1914-1989) Ritchie Boy Frank Hauser was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations against Nazi Germany during the Rhineland Campaign. Frank Hauser's application for naturalization submitted to the US District Court's Western District of South Carolina at Spartanburg.

Ritchie Boy Hauser sailed to the United States from Liverpool on the SS Georgic and arrived to the United States on March 27, 1940. Sharon Delaney has provided these additional documents about Ritchie Boy Frank Hauser that refer to his being inducted into the Army at Camp Croft in South Carolina, attended ASTU training in Denver, and finally was sent to the the Military Intelligence Training Center at Camp Ritchie. He emigrated to the United States and found work as a leather belt maker.

Citizen at Spartanburg, SC. He studied to be a Radio Operator with the 61st Signal Radio Intercept Company and in June 1944 was transferred to Camp Ritchie. His language specialities included German, French, Italian, and Hungarian.

He graduated in August 16, 1944 as a German Document Examiner. In September 4, 1944 he was promoted to S/Sgt. He was released from Camp Ritchie on September 18, 1944 and traveled to Camp Kilmer where he embarked via RMS Queen Mary.

He arrived in Scotland on September 25, 1944.
