Stefan Heym (1913–2001), born Helmut Flieg, was a German-born Jewish Ritchie Boy, novelist, and essayist. He trained at Camp Ritchie in class 9, served overseas rising to technician sergeant, and enlisted from New York City. After the war he became a prominent author in German and English.
