Hans Koehnke was born on September 20, 1910 in Hamburg. Hans Koehnke obtained his training in military intelligence at Camp Ritchie's MITC in 1943 with a specialty in Interrogation of Prisoners of War. According to his discharge papers, Hans Koehnke served with the 6825th HQ and HQ Co MIS/A. He emigrated from Hamburg, Germany in 1936. According to his discharge papers, he had enlisted in the US Army in January 1941, and, apparently he had already obtained US Citizenship because alien residents were restricted from serving in the military until March 1942. During his military service, heachieved the Rank of TSgt (Sergeant - Technician Grade 4), and received numerous medals for his service. He was proud of the work he did. Here is one of those pictures.
