A Bronze Star citation identifies Siegel as a technician third grade serving as an operations sergeant in the S-2 section of T Force, 12th Army Group, from 1 December 1944 to 8 May 1945. It credits him with preparing intelligence target information, interrogating enemy personnel, and translating enemy documents. He was awarded the Bronze Star for that service and died in 1977.
