Armit E. Harrison (ASN 376513) was a Ritchie Boy who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 12.
Biography
Harrison, a long-time resident of Hamilton Square, NJ, was preceded in death by his wife in 2014. Ritchie Boy Harrison was one of the 350 Marines who graduated from Camp Ritchie, where he specialized in Photo Interpretation.
He served as a Forward Scout/Observer with the 4th Marine Division. He was a Purple Heart recipient, having fought in the Marshall and Mariana Islands Campaigns of Roi-Namur and Saipan, before being wounded by Japanese small arms fire during the Tinian invasion.
