Herman Salinger (23 December 1905 – 22 January 1983) was a Ritchie Boy (from United States) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 6.
Biography
He was born on December 23, 1905 in Saint Louis, Missouri.
Later he taught several years at the University of Wisconsin until he entered the Army Air Corps as 2nd Lieutenant in 1942. After a couple of years at Leland Stanford, teaching German and studying for an M.A. During the four years Herman served as instructor, Ground School Headquarters., A.A.F.
He finished his work at Yale for the Ph.D. Flying School, Kelly Field, Tex.
(1942-43); Staff and faculty, Military Intelligence Training Center, Camp Ritchie, Md.
(1929) in Germanic languages, Herman spent two years divided between the Universities of Berlin and Cologne. Since 1932 and more recently also of Modern Language Teachers of the Central West, and the Reserve Officers Assoc.
