Biography
Gordon Davis Shingleton was born February 29, 1924, at Baltimore, Maryland.
11121625) Army of the United States, for meritorious service in connection with military operations, as Photo Interpreter, Historical Section, Headquarters European Theater of Operations, from 6 June 1944 to 8 May 1945. Shingleton was married July 31, 1949, to Phyllis Jean Nall in the First Methodist Church at Clarksburg, West Virginia. Captain Shingleton was promoted to Major in 1953.
On August 16, 1987, LTC Shingleton received the Army Commendation Medal, an Oak Leaf Cluster, for his outstanding service at Fort McClellan and in January 1970, a second Oak Leaf Cluster for "“exceptional, meritorious service at Picatinny arsenal as Project Officer in the Mines Technical Division of the office of Project Manager, Material Command". Shingleton received a B.S. Shingleton was employed by Crown, Cork, and Seal Corporation as Senior Engineer in Research and Development in Baltimore.
Shingleton are members of the First United Presbyterian Church and have always been leaders in church and civic work.
