Herbert Gontard was a United States Army Private First Class who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 18.

Herbert worked as Laboratory assistant (analysis of metals).

Gontard served as member of IPW Teams 113, 182 and MI Team 418-G. After war, returned to live in Munich.
