Herman Markovitz (1923–2006) was a United States Army Private who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 9. Herman enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Herman was a Ritchie Boy from Czechoslovakia. He trained at Camp Ritchie in Class 9. On 20 July 1943, he was naturalized as a United States citizen in District Court in Washington, D.C., in a ceremony for Camp Ritchie soldiers reported the next day in The Washington Post.
