Ilya E. Wolston-Volfovsky (1918–1984) was a United States Army Private who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 10.
Biography[edit | edit source]
After being drafted in 1942, he became an American citizen, and changed his name to Wolston. Ilya worked as interpreter for business concerns. From 1946 to 1949, Wolston-volfovsky worked for the State Dept in Berlin.

- 18 May 1943 — Became naturalized U.
- 20 September 1943 — Graduated Class 10. Classified as Russian linguist.
- 27 September 1943 — Promoted to T/4.
- 11 October 1946.
- Wolston was discharged from the Army on 11 October 1946 and by the end of 1946 (early 1947?), he was a civilian working for (the Public Safety Branch?) of OMGUS in Berlin. The Chief of the Special Branch Section was Ritchie Boy Ulrich R. Gress. At that time, German-speaking agents were needed for the important tasks of denazification, criminal.
