Arthur R. Pontarelli (1922 – 30 October 2023) was a Ritchie Boy (from United States; Catholic) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 18.
Biography edit
Pontarelli, 101, passed away on October 30, 2023. Among his military awards Arthur received the Bronze Star for action with the Seventh Division. Army during WWII in the Military Intelligence Service on the staff of General Omar Bradley. He was a member of the “Ritchie Boys,” a special group of soldiers trained at the secret Camp Ritchie in Maryland for military intelligence operations. He was recalled for the Korean conflict and served in Korea as Artillery Intelligence Officer. He left the military with the rank of Captain.
