Herman Landman (1925 – 10 July 2002) was a Ritchie Boy (from United States; Jewish) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 24.
Biography
Herman was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 23, 1925. Herman passed away on July 10, 2002 at the age of 76. He had his Bar Mitvah in Havana, Cuba. He enlisted on February 28, 1944, and trained in Counter-Intelligence at Camp Ritchie, and was stationed in the Philippines and then in occupied Japan. He was discharged from service on April 27, 1946. He was a graduate of Columbia College. A member and former vice president of the Wantagh Jewish Center, he was most interested in the continued success of the State of Israel and Judaic studies. He was tri-lingual, and avid reader, world traveler and taught Yiddish to continue the heritage.
