Philip Pines (1920–2020) was a United States Army soldier associated with Camp Ritchie, Maryland.

Biography

Collette (died in war), Leveille, and Edelson (1912). Berenson (became Director, United Nations Radio Service), Morris (Morey) Pierce (CBS), (English Lord) D’Arcy and other civilians who were part of OWI or were news reporters or commentators. In Normandy, worked out of 2 large trailers.

Timeline

• Collette (died in war), Leveille, and Edelson (1912).
• 19 February 1944 — Assigned to 2nd MRBC and sent to Camp Sharpe for training (approx. 6 weeks).
• November 1945 — Returned to U.S.
• Philip Pinkofsky in New York.
• Unit to which attached possessed two trailer trucks equipped with transmitter.
• Worked at St. Lo, then Rennes, Radio Bretagne, Verdun, Spa, Bastogne, 9th Army, Maastricht, Liege; in May, war ended, went to Bremen, didn’t want to stop at Bergen Belsen. Later, assigned to Wiesbaden.
