Hans Eichenwald (1924–1996) was a United States Army Private who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 16.
Biography edit
Hans kussman, MD Brigadier General US Army, Retired Former Undersecretary of Health, Department of Veterans Affairs. After the war he returned to Detroit where he became very bored. He unfortunately died during this admission.

- Born 19 May 1924 in Germany to German parents.
- July 1943 — Served with Military Police Unit (333rd MPEG).
- 9 May 1944 — Promoted to S/Sgt.
- Enjoyed Sons And Soldiers. I had the pleasure of meeting another "Richie" boy while commander of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1997. He was Heinz Eichenwald/Harry Wald. He unfortunately died during this admission. I had a chance to spend time talking to Harry while he was a patient. He and his sister were sent from Germany in 1938. His sister went.
- After the war he returned to Detroit where he became very bored.
- Assigned to IPW Team 14 attached to 100th Infantry Division.
