Chester B. England was born on 11 July 1917. He enlisted in the Army at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 19, later associated with team MII 469.
A 25 August 1944 Salem News (Ohio) item identified Pvt. Chester England as stationed at Camp Ritchie and as the husband of film actress Judy Canova.
