Biography[edit | edit source]

Gerald Schlesinger (1920–2005) was a German-born Jewish Ritchie Boy who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 11 and served overseas as a technician fifth grade with IPW Team 71, attached to the 28th Infantry Division. Teammates included 2nd Lt. (32174350)|Robert G. On 29 April 1944, MITC Special Orders No. 103 listed him as Technician Third Grade (typist linguist) with IPW Team 71, relieved from Camp Ritchie and ordered to Camp Shanks, New York, on 2 May 1944. On 23 May 1944, Hq MIS ETOUSA Special Orders No. 135 placed IPW Team 71 on detached service with FID. On 2 June 1944, Hq MIS ETOUSA Special Orders No. 145 attached IPW Team 71 to Third U.S. Army for duty with 28th Infantry Division.
