Sidney Dombroff (1922–2012) was a United States Army Sergeant who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 29. Sidney enlisted at New York City, New York. A Staff Sergeant in the Russian-language section at Camp Ritchie who later wrote memoirs of his training.
Biography
Staff Sergeant Sidney Dombroff wrote memoirs including a chapter on arriving at Camp Ritchie from Texas via Baltimore. Excerpts describing his training and service are collected on The Stories.
Staff Sergeant Sidney Dombroff trained in the Russian-language section at Camp Ritchie near the end of the war in Europe. His memoirs describe the trip from Texas via Baltimore, map and compass field problems in the Blue Ridge, and the camp’s intelligence curriculum.
