Guy Stern (b. 1922) was a United States Army Pvt who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 8. Born Günther Stern in Hildesheim, he interrogated German POWs after D-Day and later became a distinguished German literature scholar.

Guy Stern (born Günther Stern in Hildesheim, Germany, in 1922) escaped to the United States in 1937; the rest of his immediate family perished in the Holocaust. Drafted in 1942, he trained at Camp Ritchie as a POW interrogator, arrived in Europe shortly after D-Day, and received the Bronze Star for his mass-interrogation methods. After the war he earned a Ph.D. and became Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Wayne State University. He died in 2023. See the full story.
