Hans Louis Trefousse (December 18, 1921–January 8, 2010) was a German-American author and historian of the Reconstruction Era and World War II. He was a long-time professor (and professor emeritus) at Brooklyn College from 1950 to 1998. He also taught as a distinguished professor of history at Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

Hans Louis Trefousse (December 18, 1921–January 8, 2010) was a German-American author and historian of the Reconstruction Era and World War II. Army in 1971, after 28 years of service. Attached is a magazine article, from "Military History Magazine" dated April 19, 2002 titled "Through an Interrogator’s Eyes" by Paul A.

Trefousse was a Ritchie Boy. Thomsen and Joshua Spivak, who spoke with/interviewed Lt. Trefousse, who looks back on Ernest Hemingway, the liberation of Paris, and the Nazi occupation of Europe in the article.

Trefousse retired from the U.S. At he time the article was written, he was semi-retired, and continued to publish on military and political topics.
