Dorothy Fischer (ASN L504431) was a Ritchie Boy (also known as nee Hohenberger) who trained at Camp Ritchie.
Biography
Here is Part 1 of the back story. On April 29, 1943 Dorothy Hohenberger enlisted in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC). On June 1, 1943, Lt. Hohenberger arrived at Camp Ritchie as a WAAC. The WAAC's were converted to active duty on July 1, 1943 at the Women's Army Corps (WAC). RG Hohenberger completed Special Course SC8 in Photo Interpretation (PI). She then became an instructor in Section VI (photo interpretation). While at Camp Ritchie RG Hohenberger married RB Paul Hamilton Fischer and became Lt. Fischer was born on October 25, 1914 in Great Britain, completed Class 13 in Photo Interpretation and served in the Pacific.

The letter she wrote postmarked July 19, 1945, which had a return address Section Vi, Camp Ritchie was crossed out and a handwritten address of WAC Off. Qtrs, Camp Atterbury, Ind. The two envelopes contained letters written by RG Lt Dorothy Fischer to her RB husband, Capt Paul Fischer. I plan to write more about that in coming days.
