Biography

From a review in the Wall Street Journal by Peter Cozzens, July 16, 2020 - "...the remarkable story of American mobilization during the 828 days between the war's onset and the Dec. 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. In that interval, an army emerged that was capable of defeating battle-hardened Germans in North Africa a year later..." Dickson gives most credit for forging a modern American fighting force to Army Chief of Staff George C. Marshall, who was also most responsible for the creation of Camp Ritchie.
