Herman Bohlsen (18 October 1906 – 16 August 1993) was a Ritchie Boy (from Germany; Catholic) who trained at Camp Ritchie.
Biography
Herman Bohlsen (18 October 1906 – 16 August 1993) was a German-born Catholic Ritchie Boy from Ostrhauderfehn, Germany. With his wife Hilda he opened the Pine Lake Tavern on Long Island; their family later operated several restaurants in the area. He enlisted from New York City, was discharged at Fort Dix on 29 August 1945, and received the Good Conduct Medal. He is buried at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
