Ira Spiro Barzilay (born 1919) was a United States Army soldier associated with Camp Ritchie, Maryland.

The timeline research also records He graduated with an engineering degree from Stanford then enlisted in the US Army, where he was sent to West Point to become a combat engineer. He later gave up his acting career to enter World War II, as a captain with the Corps of Army Engineers. Ira returned to California after the war and started a furniture manufacturing company called Barzilay that produced high quality trendy modern designs that are now known as Mid-Century Modern.

- *The engineer was Capt. Ira Barzilay who was well known to the general public as Ira in the Our Gang and Little Rascals movie shorts. He was the nerdy kid who played the piano extremely well (was a child prodigy at the keyboards). He was on the bridge when it collapsed and managed to survive that.
- Actor. A native of New York, he was a child prodigy on the piano. Although not a key player, he appeared in several of the "Our Gang" and "Little Rascals" comedy shorts of the 1930s, usually as a child playing the piano. He also appeared in a 20-minute short film with child actress Shirley Temple entitled, "Dora's Dunking Doughnuts" in 1933. He later....
