Ernest Kaufman (born 1920) was a Ritchie Boy (from Germany; Jewish) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 12 and served with IPW Team 39.
Biography
Ernest Kaufman was born in Drove, Germany in 1920. Ernest Kaufman will be speaking about his experiences on March 30 in Burlington, NJ. He was interred briefly at the Buchenwald Concentration Camp in 1938 and was able to emigrate to the United States in 1939. He enlisted in the US Army in February 1942 and was sent to Camp Ritchie where he graduated in the 12th Class as an Interrogator of Prisoners War (IPW) team.
