- 2/22/1920 Born Philip Pinkofsky in New York.
- 2/19/1944 Assigned to 2nd MRBC and sent to Camp Sharpe for training (approx. 6 weeks).
- Remembers being interviewed twice while overseas: once by a UN War Correspondent, which was broadcast back to the states (Bill Downs of CBS) and once by Lt. Raymond Fuller (from 2nd MRBC). In Normandy, worked out of 2 large trailers. There is a photo taken on 1 January 1945 in the Netherlands and shows Lt. Muhlbauer, T/5 Phil Pines and BBC Correspondent....
- Served in 2nd MRBC under its Commanding Officer, Lt (later Capt) Arthur Jaffe. Also remembers Lt. Gordon Frick, Lt. Louis Muhlbauer, Lt. Raymond Fuller, Robert Mussell, Lt. Collette (died in war), Leveille, and Edelson (1912). Also recalls Ayoub, Brooks, Groetzinger, Henig, Sancho-Bonet and Wigler (members of 2nd MRBC) plus Lt. Agard and McCoy (not....
- Unit to which attached possessed two trailer trucks equipped with transmitter.
- Worked at St. Lo, then Rennes, Radio Bretagne, Verdun, Spa, Bastogne, 9th Army, Maastricht, Liege; in May, war ended, went to Bremen, didn’t want to stop at Bergen Belsen. Later, assigned to Wiesbaden.
