- 1919 Born in Oslo, Norway, son of the U.S. Consul. Held dual citizenship.
- 1940 Served with Norwegian Army.
- 1956 Retired as Major.
- Served as Captain (ASN: 01285308) in the FSSF, HQ Detachment in North Africa and Italy. Several reports by Captain Finn Roll (reporting to HQ, Task Force B) dealt with interrogations of captured POWs in Italy Jan 1944.
- Served with the 3rd Army through the Rhineland campaign.
