Joseph R. Wojciechowski (born 1918) was a United States Army Private First Class who trained at Camp Ritchie, Maryland, in Class 24. Joseph enlisted at Trenton, New Jersey.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Joseph R. Wojciechowski was born in 1918 in Cliffwood, New Jersey. During the Depression he served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and founded Raritan Printing in 1939.
Wojciechowski served in the Army from 1941 to 1946. His assignments included secretary to commanders of the 112th Field Artillery, court stenographer at Fort Bragg, classified-documents work at Fort Sill, and small-arms and prisoner-interrogation instruction at Camp Ritchie (Class 24).
After discharge he reopened Raritan Printing, founded the South Amboy Shopping Guide, and published the South Amboy Citizen from 1951 to 1980. A longtime hospital-board and civic volunteer, he received the South Amboy Lions Club's Man of the Year award in 1992. Wojciechowski died in Old Bridge, New Jersey, on 24 April 2006.
