Frank C. Hauser (1911–1993) was a Ritchie Boy (from Austria; Jewish) who trained at Camp Ritchie in class 20 and served with IPW Team 140.

Biography

HAUSER was born in Austria in 1911.

He graduated in August 16, 1944 as a German Document Examiner.

On July 31, 1942 he enlisted at Fort Jay (Governor’s Island, NY) as Pvt (ASN: 32417389) Frank completed his Basic training at Camp Croft SC on November 6, 1942 and became a naturalized U.S.

He studied to be a Radio Operator with the 61st Signal Radio Intercept Company and in June 1944 was transferred to Camp Ritchie. He was released from Camp Ritchie on September 18, 1944 and traveled to Camp Kilmer where he embarked via RMS Queen Mary. Sharon Delaney has provided these additional documents about Ritchie Boy Frank Hauser that refer to his being inducted into the Army at Camp Croft in South Carolina, attended ASTU training in Denver, and finally was sent to the the Military Intelligence Training Center at Camp Ritchie.

Ritchie Boy Hauser sailed to the United States from Liverpool on the SS Georgic and arrived to the United States on March 27, 1940. In September 4, 1944 he was promoted to S/Sgt.

He arrived in Scotland on September 25, 1944. Frank ___ Worked in belt factory. He emigrated to the United States and found work as a leather belt maker.
